I visited outside of the main tourist season and enjoyed every moment of my stay. Just as Phoenix is a beautiful city thriving in a desert, this resort is a lovely oasis nestled near the border between two bustling cities. Maybe by then they'll have Diego's smoothie on the menu!ĭo yourself a favor and stop by this adorable cafe if you're in the area. I can't wait to visit Phoenix next year so I can order the exact same thing. Also, I got the breakfast burrito and it was *chef's kiss* soo good, but the dang peanut butter chocolate cookies were even better. I don't remember if he gave it a name or not so I'm just going to list out the ingredients: orange juice, coconut milk, blueberries, strawberries, mango (I think), and white chocolate sauce. Like ever! I cannot stop talking about it. I of course said yes and I'm so glad I did because let me tell you that was the best smoothie I've ever had. Diego took our order and after asking him which one of the smoothies was his favorite, he offered to make me a special drink. The food was delicious, the ambience was cozy, and the staff was great. We are so glad we did! This place is perfect. My friend and I were visiting Phoenix for the first time this weekend and decided to stop by Fair trade Cafe before heading to the airport. I'm bummed but I have to find another spot. It was so consistent, I always got exactly what I ordered and the staff weren't almost tripping over into my car. I don't know if the coffee shop is under new management or ownership but I miss the Copper Star I've been going to for the last 8 years. I have even attempted to ask for half sweet and it is still too sweet. Lately, it has been overly sweet to the point that I cannot taste the coffee. I actually like the taste of coffee and I enjoy it with a little bit of milk and some light syrup. Their eyes rolled back in their heads and today, the girl that took my order today was tripping backwards, eyes dilated and rolling and couldn't complete a full sentence. Both times my order was taken by two different staff that were either high or intoxicated. I'm grateful I had the insight to open these up to confirm what flour was used before I ate them because I don't just get an upset stomach. I have celiac disease and used to love going here for their gluten free pastries but the last two times I have been here, I have been given gluten pastries. I used to love Copper Star but it has gone way downhill.
